There still needs to be further specialist and more intrusive surveys of the land around spire to access the suitability to build on, and thus secure its future as part of a Leeds Homes complex.
There are ongoing discussions with the Diocese, Contractor and the Councils Housing Growth Team to agree the scope of these surveys to ensure these surveys are informative as possible.
As these surveys are intrusive and will require breaking ground, there is understandably a need to satisfy the Diocese approvals processes - which is taking time.
As soon as these are agreed, we will update residents on these arrangements. Once the Councils team have received the survey findings, we will be much better placed to determine a way forward for the scheme.
