⛺💊 HUNSLET MOOR TENTS AND DRUG DEALING

I know this is an ongoing concern, including the open drug use and dealing.

West Yorkshire Police are continuing disruption activities, and the Leeds Antisocial Behaviour is working through the legal process to obtain the legal power to remove the tents.

There has been regular engagement with those at the site and it has been established almost all of them have accommodation and are choosing not to use this - they are not homeless.

Work is now taking place to coordinate the disruption activities via the police with the street cleaning teams, so we can remove the tents immediately once they become unoccupied.

Long-term, officers are looking at what evidence might be required for an araa wide Public Space Protection Order, giving authorities the power to remove any tent involved in criminal activity.

We knew the work to close down the trap houses would result in some displacement of criminal activities, but no one expected that use of tents to become the replacement model.
