Planned Tree Works


The Forestry Section of Parks and Countryside understand that necessary works undertaken by the Council to our trees can be an emotive subject and at times may cause some distress to members of public. Therefore here is notice of the next set of non-emergency tree works in Hunslet and Riverside Ward due to take place within the next 14 days:


Dewsbury Road: Three trees are impacted:

  • Semi mature Norway Maple in reasonable health and form. It has low over hanging branches over the footpath, with a 1.8m clearance. The crown will be lift to 3.5m.

  • Semi mature Norway Maple with a twin stem. It is slightly decayed at the base of union and has a large dead stem in middle of crown. There are low over hanging branches over the footpath. This will be felled and the stump grinded.

  • Mature Cherry of reasonable health and form. It has low over hanging branches over the footpath, with a 1.5m clearance, it is also covering a road entrance and sign. It will be lifted to 4m and drawback from road and entrance by 30%.
