Working in partnership with ChargePoint operator Believ, a series of fast electric vehicle charge points will roll out across the Leeds, as there are now over 50,000 plug in vehicles registered in Leeds.

This number is growing steadily and above national trends. Therefore, there is an increasing need for on-street solutions for properties without off-street parking, some Cllr Mohammed Iqbal and I have pushed hard for in our ward due to property make-up.

Believ deliver all speeds of charge point infrastructure at zero cost to local councils. They will own, operate and maintain the charge points whilst generating a small amount of income for the Council.

Within the ward Burton Row, Hunslet Hall and Carlisle Road have been identified as a suitable location for a fast charge point over four parking bays.

A Traffic Regulation Order is proposed between the hours of 08.00 – 18.00 with a maximum 4 hour stay.

This proposal will be taken to Highway and Transportation Board for approval to advertise and subsequent consultation these Traffic Regulation Orders.

These should be in place early 2026.
