Following resident complaints around speeding, West Yorkshire Police has conducted speed gun operations on Sussex Avenue, Pepper Road and Midland Road. Although a number of speeding drivers were stopped as a result - the lack of clear speed limit signage prevented the police from issues fines.
This was clearly not acceptable and as councillors, following this feedback from the police, we placed a request for new signs to be installed as a reminder to drivers and to aid the police in enforcement.
Highways Leeds have agreed to our request and new 20mph signs will be added to positions on Sussex Avenue, Pepper Road and at the Junction of Midland Road and Pepper Road.
It is expected these will be in place in the next few weeks
