ℹ️ LEEDS DOCK PONTOON

Residents at the south end of Leeds Dock have raised concerns about the proposal for the pontoon to remain permanently in place.
Although I have no objection to it being in place for large or special events, it's permanent instalment, in my view, damages the heritage of the dock, and damages residential amenity by changing the outlook for residents.
I have consulted with Officers and although the southern leg of the dock is not a designated heritage asset, it is seen as a non-designated heritage asset that adds to the fundamental character and nature of the overall dock, and the designated asset of the original dock, known as the Potato Dock, due to its original use.
I will therefore be objecting to any planning application, should this be submitted, that requests it to be a permanent fixture of Leeds Dock for these above reasons.
I am open to conversations with the site leaseholders around temporary installations for large events however, and I will be writing to them to advise them of my position.
