Crown Hotel Meanwhile Art Project

Vastint, the owner, has a long-term plan to fully restore the external frontage and sympathetically redeveloped the internal structure, and it was good to hear from them yesterday about their plans in a little bit more detail.

However, working with an artist, we've been able to agree in principle with them some meanwhile art to fill the window voids, reducing the visual impact of the building until it has had its restoration.

Once we know what the costs of this project will be, I'll support the artist to raise funding from partners, and Vastint has pledged to help match funds some of the work.

The artist is very keen to hear stories of people who used to use the pub to help inform the artworks, and once we have the necessary funding, we will be looking for people to submit their memories.
