Hunslet Big Clean up

 Thank you to Housing Leeds and Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association for taking part in our first cleanup day around Belinda Street and Balmoral Chase in Hunslet.

The team (not all pictured) cleared over ten bags of litter, removed dozens of fly tips (to the skips), and removed half a dozen self-seeded trees blocking people's windows.

We estimate these two hours of focused work have saved over £3000 for the local Housing Leeds environmental budget, and this is before the hoped short-term reduction in fly tipping due to residents being able to get rid of their bulky waste into the skips, which will reduce the workload for Cleaner Neighbours.

Working with Housing Leeds managers, my plan is that everything Housing Leeds estate I'm Hunslet and Riverside Ward will have a focused action day every three months going forward, gradually improving there conditions.
