HUNSLET TROLLEY PROBLEM UPDATE

 Dumped Morrison trolleys are yet again becoming a nuisance around the Hunslet Housing Leeds estates.

Several years ago, we issued them with a legal notice, which resulted in the return of coin locks and proactive attempts to remove any abandoned trolley from the estates.

But as time has gone on, Cllr Mohammed Iqbal, Sarata Sawo and I have received more and more complaints about trolleys being dumped, and used for antisocial behaviour.

Today we had a meeting with the manager responsible for trolleys across Morrisons, and they have agreed to meet us next week to talk about what they intend to do to resolve the issue.

But we've also been clear, if we do not see an improvement, we reserve the right to enforcement action which will explicitly ask for magnetic locking systems to be added to the trolley systems in Hunslet.
