Last week Cllr Jonathan Pryor brought forward a new Action Plan to Leeds City Council’s Executive Board which aims to make Briggate and nearby streets safer and more welcoming for everyone.
The proposals include cyclists being asked to dismount and walk along Briggate, delivery vehicles being limited to before 10am and after 8pm, new limits on mobile street traders, and updated cycling rules for Albion Place, Albion Street and Commercial Street.
With around 250,000 people walking Briggate each week, these changes could make a real difference in making the area calmer, safer and easier for everyone to enjoy.
A public consultation will be coming soon, so please do have your say when it opens. It’s important that voices from Hunslet and Riverside are part of that conversation too
