NATIONAL HATE CRIME AWARENESS WEEK 2025

 Earlier this week I attended the launch for National Hate Crime Awareness Week here in Leeds.

This year, the focus is on disability hate crime.

The sad reality, crimes against disabled people is in the increase, fuelled by a mixture of politicians and media, both nationally and internationally, making it acceptable to mock and humiliate disabled people.

In Leeds, and personally, we're committed to work with partners, support groups and individuals to address these hate crimes, some of which have resulted in people taking their own lives and even acts of murder.

Late has no place in Leeds. Report if you're a victim or see it happen..Don't suffer in silence.
