WW2 oral History

The council is hoping to record a series of short videos, interviewing Leeds residents who took part in WW2 in some way, to capture their memories and experiences.
The council is hoping to record a series of short videos, interviewing Leeds residents who took part in WW2 in some way, to capture their memories and experiences.

As well as any allied military participants, we are also looking to speak with residents who worked for the support services.

We want to hear from residents who were coal miners, munition workers, merchant seamen, nurses, air raid wardens, the home guard or had one of the many other roles that were so important.

Many children were evacuated during WW2 and we would also like to hear from your constituents who were evacuees or whose families looked after evacuees.

These videos are going to be held by our Library and Museum and Gallery services as an oral history for future generations.

Please get in touch if you want to be involved, and I will pass your contact details onto the team managing the project.
