đź’¦ YORKSHIRE WATER WORKS ON JACK LANE
Yorkshire Water are planning to upgrade their Combined Sewer Overflows on Jack Lane.
There are several ways they can work on an asset, which will reduce the times that it discharges water.
The plans for Jack Lane will involve installing a large underground storage tank, which will intercept stormwater and hold it until the rain has passed, before releasing it back into the network to allow it to go for treatment in the normal way.
Once this tank is built and brought online, it will improve the water quality on the River Aire and the local watercourses feeding into it.
However, in order to do this safely, they need to confirm the exact location of a High-Pressure Gas Main.
From Monday 20 October, their delivery partners Ward & Burke will begin ground investigations on Jack Lane.
This will involve digging a trial hole to locate the gas main, which will help inform the final design of the proposed storage tank.
The investigation work is expected to last one week, and working hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm.
They don’t expect that there will be a requirement for lane closures, but they won’t know this for certain until we have located the gas main.
They have written to residents living near Jack Lane, but if you have concerns that Yorkshire Water and Ward & Burke are in the area, this is the reason why.
If residents wish to discuss this further, they can call our Yorkshire Water's Customer Experience team on 0344 848 1099 quoting YW206061.
