Parcel thefts

 I know parcel theft is a plague across the entirety of the city centre.

Building operators, leaseholders and residents alike are all keen that we find the solutions. These will be different building to building, and site to site.

I had a really productive meeting today with the building management companies based at Leeds Dock and West Yorkshire police to look at the specific issues in this part of the city centre.

We've agreed to meet on a regular basis and look at how we install parcel lockers somewhere on the wider development, which is something already been looked at in partnership with the Royal Armouries.

The police have agreed to create a regular monthly contact point for residents, and I'll co-ordinate for members of the Leeds Antisocial Behaviour team to attend these as well.

The site managers have agreed to look at how they can work together to reduce the cost of other initiatives to help prevent ongoing antisocial behaviour and criminality, such as The parcel thefts, from taking place.

The council will look to see how it can help to play its paths to facilitate this
