 Last Chance to take part in an important public consultation on West Yorkshire Police funding for 2026/27.

Residents across West Yorkshire are being invited to give their views on the level of the police precept for the next financial year.

The police precept is the portion of the council tax bill collected by West Yorkshire’s five local authorities that directly funds local policing services.

The consultation seeks views on a potential increase to the police precept, which would mean an additional cost of approximately 19p to 26p per week for most households in Council Tax Bands A to C.

The consultation closes at midnight on 20 January 2026.
