My apologies for not uploading this sooner, I'm running somewhat behind on update and I'm in the process of catching up today.

Dear Resident(s),

Hunslet Update WhatsApp Channel: We have launched a dedicated WhatsApp Broadcast Channel just for Hunslet updates, straight to your phone. You can join at https://shorturl.at/B5kZt  - your details remain private.

LOCAL UPDATES

Hunslet Square Phase 1: The power wash has now been done, the large mural is finally in place, with both the four history and the nature interpretation boards now at the print and due to be installed, although not sadly in time for the launch.

Church Street and Pepper Park Noticeboards: This has still not been resolved and has been escalated internally.

The Sun Inn: Planning Officers have advised the owner they are not supportive of any application that results in the building being demolished. This doesn’t mean the owner will not come forward with a formal proposal to do this, but it sets a clear sign that the council want the building to remain in place.

Hunslet St Mary’s Spire Crack: The crack in the spire has been reported to the diocese and despite several attempts to get an update, nothing has been forthcoming. We will continue to chase this.

Former George IV Site: This will now be formally added as a possible council house development site. This does not mean it will be developed, but it does mean that the land will now be surveyed to see if it is suitable for development, and if so, what type of development. We’re unlikely to know more until the end of this year.

Scoop Dog and Fly Tipping Signs: These are now in production, and we will work with the residents' association to identify locations for these.

The new fly tipping posters have been designed to be simple and to the point to try and make it easier to say fly tipping isn’t acceptable.

The new anti-dog fouling Scoop Dog signs are a test design to see if they are more noticeable than our older more formal signs.

Big Clean Up: The next action day is penned in for August 23rd and we are working with the residents' association to plan this out in detail to ensure maximum impact. This action day is likely to be on the Rochefords.

UPCOMING LOCAL EVENTS

Hunslet Church of the Nazarene Coffee Morning: This will be on Saturday 7th of June at 10:00 and offers free hot drinks and breakfast sandwiches.

Litter Free Hunslet: Their next litter pick is on the next one after this will be Sunday, 28th, meeting at the side of The Hunslet Church of the Nazarene on Lupton Street, then Sunday 13th at 12:00, meeting at Involved Leeds.

Foodbank: This is every Wednesday at 12:00 at Involve Leeds and is run by All Community CIC.
