Hunslet update

Last night, I provided the following update to the Hunslet Carr Residents Association on number of outstanding local issues.

Pepper Road to Westbury Grove and North Place Ginnel: Highways Leeds will be adding some staggered fencing behind the bollards rather than replacing the bollard. This is now on order.

Woodhouse Hill Drive Road Surfacing: This is being delayed due to a dispute with Yorkshire Water. The Council’s legal team is working through the issue.

Rear Sandon Place Embankment Works: Snagging work is now being carried out, and it has been agreed to simply smooth out the field and seed it as grass to allow for easy maintenance. A fence has been asked for at the boundary by residents. This will be looked at.

Belle Isle Road and Balm Road Pavement Mounting: I'm still chasing the date of work to add bollards.

Montcalm Crescent and Braithwaite Row Junction Surface Repairs: Still chasing Highways Leeds for the quote for the repairs.

Leasowe Recreation Improvements: Plans are being updated for this as they are over a year old and so need to b re-costed. Funding has not been received yet for this work from the relevant developer levy, but it is not unexpected as the sometime come in a few months late.

Telford Walk Missing Bollard: This has now been installed.

Royals Close Chicane: This was installed but in the wrong ginnel entrance by contractors. This has now been ordered for the right ginnel.

Moor Road Pavement Parking: West Yorkshire Police have this on their patrol route to issue tickets.

Royal Drive Pavement Parking: West Yorkshire Police have this on their patrol route to issue tickets.

Missing Pepper Road Bins: These are on order as they were removed after being burnt out.

Missing Pepper Road Noticeboard Door: This is now on order.

Stourton War Memorial: We have still been unable to establish the landowner, which is proving a significant barrier to completing the Stourton history project at this location.

Arthington View Stone: Leeds Fed are looking to remove these at the end of the month, removing the sitting area. I’m still waiting for a quiet from Highways Leeds for a dropped kerb.

Telford Terrace Hedge: This has now been cut back and the footpath made clear.
